During the next Young Procurement Professionals (YPP) event “The history of Procurement”, Freek Andriesse and Marc Prins will discuss the emergence of both the public and private procurement function. In addition, Jacob Biemond will talk about how Procurement is organized within Damen Shipyards nowadays.
Freek Andriesse discusses the international supply chain and procurement for the construction, equipment and provisioning of VOC ships.
Freek Andriesse is deputy editor-in-chief of Deal! Magazine about Purchasing and Supply Management.
Together with Marc Prins, he was commissioned by Nevi to research the history of purchasing in both the private and public sector.
Marc Prins discusses the origin of government tenders. It takes you on a beautiful flight from the 13th century with the construction of cathedrals that ends with the establishment of the European guidelines for public procurement in the 1970s. Marc Prins is an independent procurement professional who focuses on advising public and semi-public organizations in the field of tendering and procurement professionalization. Together with Freek Andriesse, he was commissioned by Nevi to research the history of purchasing in both the private and public sector.
