Suvi Julkunen

Suvi holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and a Master’s in Purchasing and Supply Management.

After her Bachelor’s, Suvi started her career in logistics, more specifically freight forwarding.  This career path gave her a wide perspective of the international markets, yet still she was still longing for the procurement side of business.  This led the decision to go back to studying. Suvi started her Master’s in Lappeenranta, Finland, where she got the opportunity to come to the Netherlands to do a double degree with the University of Twente.

Once her studies were finalised,  Suvi joined a collaborative Procurement Talent Program traineeship with Rabobank and Nevi. Now Suvi works as a Global Process Excellence Officer, focusing on building a global way of working for procurement at Rabobank.

Suvi’s goal in YPP is to organise insightful events, where young procurement professionals can learn more about procurement in diverse industries, and find the most suitable path in procurement for them.

Simone Hendrikx-Pardoel

Simone holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and started her professional career as a Buyer for Essent taking care of multiple indirect procurement categories. After the acquisition of Essent by E.ON, she became an International Category Manager for commercial services. Lateron she joined TenneT TSO as a Category Manager for electrical components for High Voltage Overhead Lines. She enjoys building long term procurement strategies and simplifying procurement processes to contribute to a company’s success.

As a YPP Board Member she is committed to showcasing the broad scope and significance of the procurement profession and hopes to inspire young professionals to pursue fulfilling careers in procurement.

Bram Buurman

Currently, Bram works as a senior consultant at Kloepfel Benelux (part of EPSA Group) and is active in the manufacturing industry. Bram is eager to gain and share knowledge about our beautiful profession, and wants to see what more there is to know about procurement, apart from the manufacturing industry.

Birthe Pennings

Birthe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Logistics Management and currently works as a managing consultant at Holland Inkoop Professionals. In this role, she supports a variety of clients on an interim basis, primarily within the public sector, where she is responsible for guiding and executing European public tenders. Besides that, she manages a team of consultants, is responsible for their coaching and performance development, and contributes to business development and internal knowledge sharing.

Before stepping into consultancy, Birthe worked at Lightyear, a company focused on developing solar-powered electric vehicles. This experience sparked a strong interest in technology and innovation, which continues to influence her professional interests today.

With this technical curiosity, Birthe is particularly drawn to procurement in complex and technical environments. While most experience so far has been in the public sector, the dynamics of the private sector are equally appealing, and she is eager to explore this further.

Through Young Procurement Professionals, Birthe aims to broaden this perspective, connect public and private sector insights, and help create opportunities for members to learn from different procurement contexts. As a board member, she is motivated to contribute to a community where knowledge sharing, curiosity, and professional growth are central.

Koen van Wingerden

Koen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Management, specialized in Procurement Management. During his career, he has gained experience in sourcing, category management, and procurement transformation through roles at Boskalis, Stolt Tankers, and currently as Procurement Manager at Hanab Installation Technology.

As a YPP Board Member, Koen is passionate about connecting young procurement professionals, sharing knowledge, and supporting the development of the next generation within the procurement profession.

Nick Vos

Nick holds a Bachelor’s degree in Food & Business, which provided a strong foundation in both commercial and operational aspects of the food industry. He began his career as a Buyer within a large hospitality organization, where he developed hands-on experience in sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization in a dynamic environment.

Following this, he joined Van Hessen as a Procurement Specialist, further strengthening his expertise in strategic sourcing, stakeholder management, and international supply chains. Currently, he is working as a Project Buyer at Heesen Yachts, where he is responsible for managing procurement activities within complex, high-end yacht building projects, balancing quality, cost, and delivery performance.

He joined the board of Young Procurement Professionals to contribute to the development of the next generation of procurement specialists. He is motivated to share knowledge, expand professional networks, and help elevate the role of procurement as a strategic function within organizations.
